Dear Prospective Families,

School ought to be a positive experience for all children. It should be a safe place in which each student can achieve at his or her own pace, a setting that encourages growth. If a more traditional, larger school is not providing that for your child now, we believe that Parkmont can inspire enthusiasm and zeal for learning. By recognizing and appreciating the differences that make each child unique, we offer a system that serves students with diverse needs in a highly individualized program.

Our structure and philosophy may also help your child find more success in school. We work with 65 students in grades 6-12. Parkmont stays small to assure that each student receives individual attention every day, building formative relationships with teachers and other students. Our college preparatory program allows kids to focus on fewer subjects at a time. Experiential learning, academic trips, and an Internship program give our program depth and make the academic experience tangible for our students.

Our mission statement, below, defines much of our philosophy:

How do we help adolescents develop the confidence and skills they need to move ahead energetically with their lives?
At Parkmont we create a community where students ally themselves with creative adults whose driving concern is their success and well-being. We provide them with substantial experience in the world beyond school that invites them to see more clearly the possibilities ahead. And we challenge them with an academic program that fuses adolescent interests with traditional disciplines and respects the variety of their talents and motivations. Our students get ready to chart their own course; we make sure they're prepared for the journey.

We are proud of our program, and the countless success stories that come out of our school are what make us tick. Please continue reading through our website to get a feeling for Parkmont. And do give us a call if you'd like to come in and see if Parkmont might be the right school for your child.

Best Wishes,

Ron McClain
