Silent Auction

Saturday, March 8, 2008, from 7 - 9:30 p.m.

After such a successful 2007 auction, we are all excited for Parkmont's 2008 Silent Auction and Raffle! Planning is now underway and we are creating a parent volunteer committee to run the event. The auction is a FUN event with which to involve yourself! You meet other parents and help out the school. Please sign up by emailing Christy Halvorson Ross or call 202.726.0740, ext. 210.

How does the auction work?
Each year businesses and friends of the school generously donate items that we can auction off for sale at the Parkmont Silent Auction. The proceeds from the auction raise money for scholarships and computers at Parkmont.

How Can I Help?

  • ATTEND! We encourage all of our families and friends to come to the auction. Your entrance ticket includes a variety of delicious hors d'oeuvres, drinks, and wine, and allows you to bid on more than 110 items!
  • Donate to the Silent Auction: For 2008, can you help us find services or gift certificates for the Silent Auction?  Examples include: dinner for two at Café Deluxe; four tickets to an Orioles game; $50 gift certificate to Hold Everything; A week's stay at a house in Maine; tennis lessons, etc. Value should be $50 or higher. These items are donated both by parents and/or by business that you may patronize or have connections with.  Donation forms and solicitation letters are available online and can be downloaded from the left side of this page.
  • Buy Raffle Tickets: This year raffle tickets will be available for $50, with a limited number of tickets being sold—100 only (increasing your odds for winning!) The prize is yet to be determined.  Winners' names will be drawn at the end of the Silent Auction. (Winners need not be present to win.)  E-mail or call Christy at 202.726.0740, ext. 210 for more information.
  • Volunteers: The auction is a volunteer-run event, so we need your help! This is a great way to meet other parents and feel a part of the Parkmont community. We hope all parents can help in some way! Volunteers can solicit items, work on decorations, help organize check-out  the night of the event, call other parents, etc.
