“When I first came to Parkmont Middle School, it was a completely new environment for me, but the teachers, students and classes made it fun from the start. We took trips to places I’d never been, like the canoeing trip to Sycamore Island and the ropes course at FLOC. I loved the challenge of doing something a lot of other people had trouble with.”

Middle School

Parkmont’s Middle School program focuses on the development of the emerging young adolescent. Middle School years are certainly among the most important years in the lives of students, years which witness considerable academic, emotional, and physical growth.   Our faculty recognize the unique needs of this age group and are dedicated to designing learning experiences and activities that support the students in their personal growth from childhood to adolescence.

Parkmont's curriculum is designed to stimulate thinking and broaden perspective, to solve problems resourcefully, and to communicate effectively in speech and writing. Students who need additional help in specific academic or emotional areas will find a support system in place for them.

The key to the success of the Middle School program is the collaboration between parents, students and teachers. Middle School faculty members support each student with guidance, reason, warmth and personal attention. At Parkmont, as students advance, moving towards high school, we hope as they approach the next phase of their educational path that our students develop a sense of self-confidence, self-esteem, and intellectual curiosity.
