I think that Parkmont's Upper School is good for people who like small schools. Parkmont has engaging classes that give you a great education. The thing that I like best about Parkmont is the fact that students can be really close to their teachers.' - Catherine Augustin, Former Graduate
Upper School

Welcome to the Upper School of Parkmont School! It is with great optimism and excitement that we began the 2007-2008 school year!

The Upper School is committed to the overall Parkmont mission to nurture our students in mind, body, and spirit so that they may reach their potential intellectually, academically, and socially.

We encourage students to become involved in the life of the school, make new friends, and get to know the faculty, developing the social and interpersonal skills of cooperation, teamwork, and leadership.

Students meet twice a week with their advisor to discuss school and personal issues. Advisors work closely with students to monitor credit requirements, and senior petition writing. Students must fulfill the D.C. public school graduation requirement of 23.5 credits. Seniors must also complete a year-long petition, which they work on individually with faculty oversight. The petition is an extensive paper describing the student's educational and personal history and how these experiences relate to his or her future plans.
